Being so close to graduation puts everything into perspective. I've increasingly found I can only form a coherent explanation of my emotional reactions when those trials are past, and that's rather true of the last four years. (Though they're not fully past yet. You know what? If I were adrift at sea and had to wear a stupid bird around my neck, I don't think I'd learn to respect nature. I think I'd just hate albatrosses. This is the problem with negative reinforcement.

Today was pretty much Not Cool. I was tempted so many times to just not write that stupid essay, but I did, and only finished it. . . as the class was supposed to be starting.
